LOVE TO SING ?
Linda Hamilton, music coordinator, is inviting anyone who loves to sing to become a member of the 5:30 pm or 10:30 am choir. It is helpful to know how to read music but not necessary. We are trying to grow both choirs. Any age is welcome, with children preferred above the age of 9 and willing to sit attentively through the Mass. Whole families could be together. Currently the choir is enhancing the singing of hymns, songs, and service music, and there is no separate rehearsal, just a minimal amount of time before the Mass. We hope that soon our members will want a separate rehearsal to learn new music. Linda is making a music schedule in advance and supplying choir members with any music not found in the Breaking Bread missalette. So, you will have the opportunity to look at the music at home before arriving at church. In addition, we need more cantors at both Masses. The cantor especially leads the singing of the psalm and Gospel Acclamation, therefore, should be thoroughly familiar with that music (just as the lector prepares). If you are not a great music reader, perhaps you could learn from an audio recording which would be provided. You can volunteer however often fits your schedule. When we begin the new liturgical year (beginning December 1st) and have all new books, that would be a good time for instrumentalists (flute, etc.) to play along with the piano. We will have a display and sign-ups at the ministry fair October 19-20, but we hope you will respond before then! If interested, please text or call Linda Hamilton at 843-368-1880 or email liturgicalinda@hotmail.com. And remember that St. Augustine said, “Whoever sings, prays twice.”

What is Eucharistic Adoration?
The Eucharist, which is the Body of Jesus Christ, is placed in a monstrance, the gold vessel seen here. When we visit Jesus in this manner, we adore Him the way that Mary adored her baby. What do I do in adoration? You look at Jesus, and He looks at you! You can speak to Him freely in your heart, since you are present with Him. You can pray the rosary, read a spiritual book, journal, or just sit and enjoy your time with Jesus. This special moment is yours to do with what you want. Who can come to Adoration? Everyone! Adults and children, men and women, Catholics and non-Catholics can all enjoy the peace and grace of time spent with our Lord in Adoration. When do we have adoration at cccc? Wednesday beginning immediately after noon Mass until 7:30pm. How can I learn more? You can contact Jacques Bernard at 404-451-4352 or Donna Barr at dmtbarr@gmail.com for more information, and also for committing to an hour at Adoration at Corpus Christi. You can visit our lending library for resources on Eucharistic Adoration, or visit www.usccb.org/eucharist to read about the Holy Eucharist.

SEVEN SISTERS APOSTOLATE
This Apostolate is a call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that the Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop—a “holy wasting” (cf. Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ. We are coming up on our one year anniversary. We are losing two prayer sisters so will need someone to take their place SOON for prayers on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you would like to join our prayer group, please contact Tracy Stefen at 912-433-9878.

PARKES... Let us support the Diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal! Like last year, if every active household at Corpus Christi donates at least $150, we will easily reach our goal of $19,720. Father's Verbum
11/14/2024
Dear all, I very much look forward to the dinner and auction on Sunday evening. I’m excited so many plan to attend. This is not only a way to support our parish, but an opportunity to spend time together as a community. I’m grateful to the many who have given much time organizing and planning the event! Advent is right around the corner. In anticipation, I invite you to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I will be hearing confessions the Tuesdays of Advent from 6pm to 7pm—that would be December 3rd, 10th, and 17th. Many have asked me why we don’t have confessions available during the weekend at Corpus Christi. With the current Mass schedule, I have Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes immediately before both weekend Masses here. I hear confessions on a regular basis at Corpus Christi on Wednesdays after noon Mass, and at Our Lady of Lourdes every Friday from 4pm to 7pm (at the rectory next to the church). I’m happy to see a good number of parishioners at Lourdes on Fridays, as well as many from various parishes in the Savannah area. On Thanksgiving Day, we will have Mass at 10am. I encourage you to attend with your family, including out of town guests. There’s no better way to start Thanksgiving than to give thanks to God for the many gifts received, especially the great gift of the presence of Jesus in our midst. There will be no daily Mass on Friday. God bless you all! Father Pablo
